SUMMARY:Co-Production "The Real PPI": Launching The Researcher's Toolkit
DESCRIPTION:Hybrid event hosted at University of Aberdeen \nRegister here: Co-Production Toolkit Launch Event – Expression of Interest \nJoin Dr Michelle Sader (University of Aberdeen) for the launch of The Researcher’s Toolkit\, a valuable resource for researchers across disciplines. \nCo-production is a collaborative approach to research\, where people with both lived and learnt experience work together to conceptualise\, conduct and disseminate research. Co-production not only benefits a variety of different communities\, but is also increasingly sought after by academic funders and journals. As part of a previous workshop co-sponsored by the University\, the Scottish Imaging Network: A Platform For Scientific Excellence (SINAPSE)\, the Eating Disorders and Autism Collaborative and Alzheimer’s Research UK\, workshop attendees and organisers co-designed a 35-page resource toolkit focusing on co-production. This talk will provide an overview of research co-production and will focus on formally launching the toolkit\, an open-source and free resource aiming to guide researchers looking to implement participatory research approaches in their own work. We will also discuss examples with which researchers across disciplines can implement co-production\, as well as signposting our next steps and where the toolkit may be found. \n\n\n\nTime\nEvent\n\n\n11:00-11:05\nWelcome and Housekeeping\n\n\n11:05-11:30\nPresenting the Toolkit\n\n\n11:30-11:45\nWorked Example: Using the Toolkit in Practice\n\n\n11:45-12:00\nQuestions & Discussion\n\n\n12:00\nNext Steps & Closing

SUMMARY:SICSA Pre-CHI Day 2024
DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to announce that this year’s SICSA Pre-CHI day will be hosted by the University of Edinburgh on the 3rd May. This will be an all-day event\, comprising of talks\, posters\, demos and social activities where work being presented at the 2024 ACM CHI conference by Scotland-based researchers will be shared\, discussed and explored. \nThe event is an opportunity to celebrate Scottish success at this year’s CHI conference\, help build links across the Scottish HCI community\, and welcome HCI researchers who are new to Scotland. It also gives an opportunity for interested researchers who are unable to go to CHI itself this year to hear about work being presented at the conference\, and to discuss in depth with researchers their latest work. We expect a mixed audience\, including researchers of the Scottish HCI community as well as interested students and industry collaborators. \nAre you a researcher based in Scotland with work accepted to CHI 2024 that you’d like to share with us as part of our event? \nIf yes\, please do register by the 12th April so we can finalise the programme for the day. The registration form allows you to tell us some basic details about the work you’d like to share. \nGeneral registration for attendees will be open until the 30th April for in-person\, and until the day before the event for online remote attendance. \n\n\n\n\nEvent programme to be announced closer to date of event. \nThe full details of the programme will be announced close to the date as it depends on the number of authors able to contribute talks to the programme. \nAttendance is free\, however you should register on this Eventbrite in order that catering numbers can be confirmed. \nIn-person attendance: Inspace\, 1 Crichton St\, Newington\, Edinburgh EH8 9AB\nOnline In-person attendance: Zoom \nPlease note limited seats are available at Inspace for in-person audiences\, so please book tickets in advance. For those joining online please select the appropriate ticket below\, and you will be emailed the link to the Zoom room the day prior to the event. \nIf you have any questions about this event\, please contact the Design Informatics administrative team: designinformatics@ed.ac.uk
