SUMMARY:1st International Workshop on Low Carbon Computing (LOCO 2024)
DESCRIPTION:The 1st International Workshop on Low Carbon Computing (LOCO 2024) will bring together researchers and practitioners with a keen interest in low carbon and sustainable computing. The workshop will provide a forum for sharing new ideas\, for presenting ongoing work and early results\, as well as for bringing forward well-founded criticism. \nLOCO 2024 is an initiative of the Scottish Programming Languages Institute (SPLI)\, supported by the Scottish Informatics and Computer Science Alliance (SICSA)\, and was inspired by the Programming for the Planet (PROPL) workshop. \nView more information and register online.

SUMMARY:Scottish Autonomous Networked Systems - Part II (SANS 2024)
DESCRIPTION:SANS – part II is an opportunity to bring together researchers from different areas to share ideas and learn about ongoing work in relation to autonomous networked systems. \nIf you would like to share your work\, we are looking for short form presentations and posters from students. The goal is information sharing and community awareness\, with a path to future collaborations (and funding!). \nTopic of relevance may include: \n\nApplying novel AI & ML techniques in an innovative manner to create evolvable and autonomous compute and network infrastructure.\nRepurposing robotic operation techniques to distributed and federated software control to achieve runtime operational assurance.\nInvestigating new programming interactions between user\, system\, and network to achieve trust for autonomous operation.\nThe role of digital twins in supporting the operation of these complex distributed systems\nThe use of formal methods to help achieve trustworthy operation in the face of dynamic and adaptable operational environments.\n\nWe have confirmed attendance from EPSRC to talk about funding opportunities\, as well as members from international industry and academia interested in the topic. \nImportant Info: \n\nPrice: FREE\nDate: 2 – 3 May 2024\nLocation: University of Glasgow or Online\nCatering provided.\n\nRegistration Necessary (for catering): https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/autonomy
